Just take a look at this pattern again ~ it is Vogue 7034, same as yesterday’s blouse ~ but just click on the picture and look at the skirt.
Now wouldn’t that make a lovely skirt? I love the neat little pocket detail. I have always battled with dresses because I have a longer waist than most RTW [ready to wear] and commercial patterns allow for in their design, and lengthening the bodice doesn’t always work. But if this was made up in matching fabrics as separates for Summer say, then Bingo! the problem is solved! Now isn’t that a neat idea?
I do intend to modify the skirt pattern, only slightly, to make it up to wear now-ish just get ready for Spring [I do hope that wasn’t it yesterday and I missed it]. Add a nice waist band, put a zip in the side seam and take out just a little bit of the fullness in the skirt and you have a nice staple skirt pattern, one that can be used in almost any fabric.
p.s. it seems I did miss Spring on Tuesday – I hear we may get snow again next week.
