IT IS WHAT IT IS, MA!

I have a very beloved daughter who frequently says the above words to me [she’ll know who I mean]. By which I think she means that whatever ‘IT’ is,  has to be accepted because it can’t or won’t be changed. That is how I’ve come to feel about my poor ‘Mao’ blouse.

Maococo

It has sat for days on Brenda, my dressmaking dummy, while I looked and pondered. I did come up with a few variations, most of which were too horrible to contemplate for long. The solution came [as it usually does] when I wasn’t really thinking about it. I took it off Brenda in order to put Vogue 7034 on it to take pictures.

Still trying to find a solution I tried it on again, trying to ignore the awful coloured button arrangement ~ and I decided it wasn’t bad as was [minus the coloured buttons] and ‘it was what it was, Ma!’ So I thought I’d give it one more chance before cutting it up for something else, and this is how it ended up ~ just put different buttons on, that’s all – simples!it is what it is 001it is what it is 003
