A sad goodbye indeed! Richard was one of the best beloved and probably under-rated actors we had and now he has gone. His death on 28th March, following heart surgery is a sad loss to his family and our thoughts are with them.

A good Northerner like myself, his biography tells you that he was a man of hard work and integrity and true grit. My daughter Sarah and myself loved to watch ‘Pie in the Sky’ episodes when she was over from the US. and she still watches on YouTube, I hope it is to be repeated on TV soon.  Whilst we were not foodies ourselves the series had just the right mix of food and intrigue and comedy. Richard’s humour and gentleness shone through it all. Sleep in peace and thankyou Richard.

Amen.. I am so sad that he is no longer with us, I enjoyed his ease and presence on screen and from what his biography says, he was a very nice happily married man to one wiife of many years. His family must be very sad as are we.
