I MADE IT!

I finally made it to Reading, so may I first say ‘Hello’ to the lovely ladies at Fabric Land, Reading [http://www.fabricland.co.uk ]especially the lovely young girl who was so helpful, thanks again. Shame on me – I didn’t get the young girl’s name, but I am sure she will know who she is, so do let me have your name so that I remember you next time I call. So what did I buy? This lot;- [you can click on the pictures for a better look]

The first three are going to be linings for littlies’ coats, together with the black velvet for the collars. Very timely this morning before I left,  my delivery came of the 100% wool with cashmere in happy cheerful red, the black is black velvet I bought for the collars.

today 006This will go with another lot of wool/cashmere in dark grey. Both are going to be made up into these coats, if you remember this post http://lifeaworkintoday 008progress.com/2013/02/06/ahh .

The next two peach fabrics are for a couple of tops for Harri, the grey knit and charcoal grey poplin are for me [I know, where is the colour I was after!] and

the cheerful check is for little boys’ lumberjack shirts. I also got piping, zips and thread. I was thrilled with my cache, but unfortunately my visit had to be a bit shorter than planned, I could have stayed all afternoon.

I finished hemming my self drafted ‘A’ line skirt in the camel wool crepe. Here is the inside and this is how I wore it.today 003 today 004

  1. Wow what a fab shopping trip… I can’t wait to see what you make, especially with the peach fabrics.
