HARRI’S TOP

I have already given Harri the heads up about her top, so although she hasn’t physically seen it yet, it is quite safe for me to post about it now because she has seen the pictures.

The fabric came from Fabricland in Reading and Harri picked it out on our visit there, together with a patterned cotton for another top, which I have used here for accent. The pictures don’t really do the top justice [do my pictures ever do anything justice?], the fabric is light not quite see through, with a little self coloured raised spot. Because of its lightness I either did French seams [front construction] or oversewed and felled the side and sleeve seams. It is light and airy and long  and because Harri is beautifully tall [about 5’12” I would say] it will suit her, I hope. The pattern was Simplicity 2447harri's pics 001harri's pics 003 style B and I used the collar band view to give the style a little Indian/Oriental look which I know Harri likes, she has lots of ideal accessories to go with this, so although it may look a little plain – I can see it in many different productions. The colour is not as pale as it looks in a couple of these pictures, but it is not quite as dark as the middle one below.
