I have not been idle, not at all, in fact I have been quite busy. With what, it would be hard to say, hence the title of this post. So in a rag tag of bits and bobs I will just put up pictures and some short comments.
First up; You may remember that in May we visited our grand-daughter and family in Sussex. Megan lives in a beautiful spot – it always reminds me of “Darling Buds of May”. Last Sunday Megan and Joe had an ‘antipasti party’ and invited quite a few friends to have a picnic in the orchard at the back of the house. The weather was just right and it was a lovely relaxing day.
Next; From the sublime…..I am very tempted to say that when I was making this I thought of my friend Pamela, which is very true, but as the applique is of a lovely fat pink pig, perhaps it wouldn’t be very tactful of me! But I DID think of Pamela, because pigs are her favourite animal and when I wanted to make her a cushion with an appliqued centre, it was only logical that I would think of pigs. So there!
Next; You might remember this horror on the left below – or more likely not, as in its original manifestation it was instantly forgettable, even by me. Which is why I took so long to work out what wasn’t good with it and change it. It is rather a convoluted story, so sufficient at the moment to say that I changed the collar to this and it now gets worn and I am happy with it. This is how it was worn yesterday – with my new ‘faux linen’ [if there is such a thing] mustard ‘A’ line skirt that I finished last week but had almost finished weeks ago, just couldn’t get the umph to get to the finish line with this one.
Rather than tack the convoluted story just mentioned on the end of this post, I shall write another – hopefully with pictures and links to make it clearer, and post it tomorrow. Till then, then.
A great improvement on that blouse. Really lovely
