In its many guises. Here are the pictures of the finished shirt for Megan and some ‘in progress pictures of the current shirt [for me]. First up, Megan’s blue and white striped, with the inverted pleat for ease at the back and proper cuff plackets [as I said, the pattern just comes with some sort of facings].
Next up is the current work in progress, in a faint pink and blue stripe. The piecing that I had to do to get the pieces out of the fabric I had can be seen here. I had to cut front yokes to eke out the stripes and I also cut out a white collar and collar stand – which I had originally intended anyway. I have also done my standard cuff plackets on the sleeves. I have enough fabric to do striped cuffs, but I might stick with the white theme to tie in the collar.
Your shirts are beautifully made. You are such a talented seamstress. Nothing beats a striped shirt. Timeless fashion item. 🙂
You really are too kind. I shall treasure the ‘talented seamstress’ comment – especially when spending the day with my seam ripper!! Many thanks.
