These last few days I have been sewing my socks off. I have been busy on a joint venture, the other half finished her bit in one day, but it has taken me parts of four days, being very slow on the starting line and limping up to half way, but yay! I finally finished in a flourish today. All very mysterious? Well, the project is a surprise and I can only give a very quick glimpse. My photography ensures that the mystery will continue I expect our secret will be safe. Although I have finished my bit, my partner in crime has the major part of the project still to do.
On another front, I spun another 52 grms, which was just enough to knit up a button band for my handspun, handknit cardigan. It has come up nice and soft, warm but light and expect it to become a well worn item in the coming months. I will do a fuller post on this with photos. later.
On the W.I.P. front, I had to interrupt the sewing of my lilac cotton blouse to do my bit on the project. Hopefully this won’t take me too long to finish now. Always a sucker for trying something new [and I have Lucie from http://lovelucie1.wordpress.com/ to blame for this!] I was directed to the Paper Panda website and was immediately taken with her take on paper cutting. I have always avoided ‘paper crafts’ in the past, but this intrigues me and reminds me of marquetry. I sent for a couple of books from Amazon and the Beginners’ pack from Paper Panda. When I get a minute [or more] I shall have a dabble and let you know how it goes, or not as the case may be.
LOL! Thanks for the reference! Hopefully, you won’t be cursing me once you’ve had a go at the papercraft pack! Just don’t expect perfection straight away!
